If you are on our Facebook Fan Page, you may have already seen these pictures from Tristen and Kevin’s engagement shoot.  If you are not yet one of our fans, I hereby shamelessly urge you to become one!  Why? because fans will get to see some pictures before everyone else, and can take a peek at our “behind the scenes” pictures to see what we are currently up to.  Plus, we plan to have some photo goodies (free photo sessions anyone? :D ) to throw around from time to time!

Okay, end of commercial.  This is a follow-up post to an earlier one titled “Tristen and Kevin PREVIEW…”   Tristen and Kevin are a couple we met at last December’s SoCal Photog Shootout event. Lucia and I really enjoyed taking pictures of this lovely pair of lovebirds.  As evident in the photos, they are so in love and so sweet together!

Again, here are the vendors that added magic to the photoshoot:

  • La Bomba Vintage Dresses
  • Bows N Berries Hairbands
  • Kacee Geoffroy Makeup Design, Alisha Baijounas Vanity Kill Studio

(We are so backlogged in organizing and posting photos due to the time spent on the creation of our brand and this blog site.  Here is an event from last year for preview now (if that makes sense? :p)  We will post lots more pictures from this session soon.   Thanks for your patience! )

Just a little before Christmas last year Lucia and I went to our second shootout event – “The Great Gatsby”, this time with the SoCal Photog Shootout group.  When we first saw the Facebook announcement we were scratching our brains out wondering what “The Great Gatsby” is all about. A closer read into the details of the event revealed terms such as Vintage, 1930s, Glamour, etc.

    AND WE WERE HOOKED.

Registration opened at 7pm on a Wednesday night, and the spots were SOLD OUT in 6 MINUTES!!!

Then came the actual day of the event. We had been getting rain for the whole week prior to that… but fortunately, the clouds cleared up! Photographer Garrett Davis graciously hosted the group in his studio located in the quaint Claremont Village. Our big sis (yes we have one more!) went to Claremont College for her Graduate studies in MIS, but we never really discovered this part of Claremont then. It was such a pleasant discovery and we kept on saying we need to come back to take more photos or just for strolling down the charming streets.

The shootout was fun and informative. We were organized into small groups to rotate at different stations, with Leaders Garrett, Wai Reyes, Hanssie Trainor, Matthew Saville, Michelle Cunningham giving us good pointers and tips throughout the whole event. My favorite group has to be Garrett’s, featuring a REAL COUPLE, Tristen and Kevin, who’s getting married in May 2010. Tristen wore a gorgeous wedding gown from La Bomba Vintage Dresses, and a special, hand-crafted bridal hair piece from Bows N Berries Hairbands. (Makeup and Hair are by: Kacee Geoffroy , Alisha Baijounas). The goal for Garrette’s group was to achieve relaxed, romantic portraits working with a real couple. I think we were able to pull it off with some great restuls, and that restored 1930 Oldsmobile certainly added to the feeling of Vintage Old World Charm!

Here are a few preview pictures of this adorable pair of lovebirds.:

    Mary and Simon

Lucia and I recently discovered the charming town of Claremont Village thanks to a shootout event hosted by some really awesome southern California photographers (see post titled “Tristen and Kevin“). We knew that we had to come back to take pictures again! So, in the spirit of practicing what we just learned (posing, lighting, composition, etc.), I immediately asked two of my friends to come join us for a photoshoot the following weekend.

Mary and Simon are one of the cutest couples I know. I’ve known Mary since junior high school years (We were also somewhat infamous for being forgetful among our close circle of friends back then – and I thought I was the only one who would do things such as forgetting about a homework assignment, or unfailingly walking into the wrong classes all the time… but no~ Mary was often my companion in such silly little mishaps (Sorry Mary! :p). However, this is just a part of her cute and adorable personality – that relaxed, unassuming, genuine sweetness. Adding that to the perfect smile and beautiful doll face (Yes… her skin is flawless. Yes, I am so envious!), and you have a killer combo that would have most men’s heart skip a beat and melt. No wonder the only thing that came to Simon’s mind when he saw Mary for the very first time was: “I am doomed.” No worries, the two first met while working at a Japanese restaurant (he was the busboy, then chef; she was the waitress), and soon became inseparable. Now, with all the sweet years of growing together, they are the proud owners of their own restaurant (Sakura Ichi Japanese Cuisine, located in downtown Pomona), proud parents of three lovely dogs, and soon-to-be proud parents of the newest addition to the family – baby Kylene!

Here are some pictures from the day:

We love to capture candid happy moments like this =)

This is one of our favorites from the day:

Congratulations and thanks, Mary and Simon!

You guys are natural models and made it such a fun shoot (Simon was on his funny joking mode non-stop during the shoot!).
Lucia and I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to capture some photos for you and share in your joy and love!
