If you missed Part I of this story, you can catch up here to see what the charity event was all about.  Also, be sure to check out the Special Contest we are having!  Yes, you do no want to miss out on this great opportunity to win some cool prizes from us! :D

Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the day.

Since the idea was to let a couple work with many different photographers all in one day (to test-drive their services and find the ideal “match”), each photo session was limited to 15 minutes, unless the couple wanted more time. It was certainly a new experience for us, to try and get many great shots within the short time-frame, but our couples are all so cool and sweet, and we ended up spending about 30 minutes with each. Love was in the air, and smiles and kisses aplenty!

Thank you guys, for taking part in this meaningful event, and for sharing these special moments with us! :)

Malibu Charity Engagement Shootout :: Part I

Last Tuesday we had the honor to be a part of Beverly Hills photographer Jen O’Sullivan’s Charity Engagement Shootout event at The Sunset Restaurant in Malibu, CA.   Jen organized this event to help raise funds for a charity called LETMESAIL.

LETMESAIL is an organization based in the Santa Clarita Valley that is dedicated to enriching the lives of differently-abled individuals and their family members. These individuals include people who have Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, hearing and vision impairments, physical disabilities, and a wide range of intellectual disabilities. LETMESAIL recognizes that people with disabilities have many talents, skills, and unique traits, and that these individuals are not so much disabled as they are differently “abled,” and as much deserve a quality lifestyle where they can use their talents and abilities in a positive way to benefit themselves as well as the society. Through events such as Summer Camps, Cooking and Nutrition Classes, Independent Living Skills Instruction, and Art Classses, LETMESAIL help bring happiness and increased self-sufficiency to the lives of these differently-abled individuals. Basically, LETMESAIL helps them SAIL!

And how fitting it was that Jen held the fun-raising event for LETMESAIL at a beautiful beach venue!

The event rounded up some of the finest wedding vendors (florists, planners, makeup artists, bakers, photographers, etc. ) under one roof, and over 50 engaged couples attended, who each had a chance to “test-drive” several photographers at once, all for FREE!   To top off the event, vendors also donated their services and goods for raffle, and attendees bought raffle tickets, with all proceeds going to LETMESAIL.  There were some serious goods offered that day: from free bridal and makeup sessions to a $600 couture cocktail dress!  And a lucky couple won one 11×14 Art Print, a Photo Guest Signing Book, plus a custom-made, “LOVE” leather bracelet from us! :D

Here is Jen dressed in white, ready to raffle away the prize from Lucia Isabella Photography :)  We were very excited about offering this raffle prize, which we wrapped with lots of LOVE:

A few lucky couples even ended up wining multiple prizes!  It was cool to see them walk away with so many goodies.  However, we also feel bad for those that didn’t win anything, or have completely missed out on the event.

So, to spread the love and to keep the spirit of giving alive, we have decided to extend all our couples at the Engagement Shootout as well as our loyal blog readers a chance to win even more fabulous stuff!  This is the only time this year that we will be offering these kind of goodies, so be sure to take advantage of it or tell your friends about it!

Deadline for entry is Tuesday June 15th.

Marie and Andy’s Engagement :: Kissed by a Rose

Last weekend we were blessed with a great engagement session with a super sweet and artsy couple – Marie & Andy! :)

Marie and Andy first met at a language Meetup event. After meeting up with them for the initial consultation and getting to know each other for a little bit, we found out that we have so much in common – Andy went to Cal Poly (we both went to Cal Poly!), had lived in Diamond Bar (we lived in Diamond Bar for 10 years!), and Marie grew up in Belize (We went to Belize during our Caribbean vacation a few years ago!) On top of that, Andy is also a lover of photography and owns a DSLR. They said they chose us to be their photographers because they think we have a very romantic, dreamy, and whimsical feel to our photos that they like. We love clients who put in such beautiful compliments for us!!! :D It really warms our hearts!

For the engagement session, we went to The Claremont Colleges, as it was the place where Andy took Marie on their first date. The beautiful grounds and buildings there also reflect the couple’s love of art and architecture. It was a great sunshiny day, and we strolled leisurely from one pretty courtyard to the next in Scripps College, capturing all the loving emotions and embraces. What made us smile, even long after the session was over, was Andy’s obvious adoration and devotion to Marie. He was very attentive to her, and even went out of his way to get a pretty rose for Marie during the shoot (and one that is of Marie’s wedding color!) Now girls, how sweet is that?  We are gonna be shooting their wedding next month.  (And guess where? At Cal Poly’s Rose Garden!)  So excited and looking forward to the day! :D

Here are some pictures from their engagement set:

We mixed in some games to make it a fun shoot:

One of Isabella’s Favorites:

Beautiful Marie:

There’s a Graffiti Wall where past graduating classes since the very first in 1931 have traditionally left their marks.  And we thought this is a cool one:Marie-Andy-Engagement-Claremont-Scripps-College-09

Really love the patio and the roses.  Added so much richness and layers to these shots:

Another beautiful one of Marie… with that rose we were talking about earlier :)

This is our favorite picture.  Love the flare, the rainbow, the rose, their expressions, everything! :)

Andy this one is for you! :)

We played more games, and they were such good sports for not worrying about rolling on the grass :p

Really love how sweet Marie’s smile becomes when she looks at Andy:

LOVE IT!  :)

Another one of our favorites:

That’s all for this time folks.   If you read this far, show this lovely couple some comment love! :)
